Imām Ibn Qudāmah -rahimahullāh-
Said:
2). Clothes:
The Zāhid should satisfy himself with a cloth that will protect him from heat and cold, and that can cover his body, and there is nothing wrong for the cloth to be fashioned with design.
Some of the clothes of the salaf are coarse clothes, thus, the Zāhīd is known with the coarse clothes.
It is reported from Abū Burdah Radiyallāhu anhu who said:
Ā’ishah Radiyallāhu anha brought out to us a kisa ( a square black piece of woolen cloth). And an Izar( a sheet cloth garment covering the lower half of the body), and said, ” the prophet Salallāhu ‘alayhi wasallam died while wearing these two.”
Transmitted by Imām Al-Bukhārī#3108 and Imām Muslim#2080.
Al Hasan said:
‘Umar Radiyallāhu anhu delivered the Friday sermon while his throbe had twelve patches.
