#1114: On Muslim Woman Going Out Of Her House With Make-Up On Her Face

Assalamun alaykum please regarding d previous topic: Is it bad for a Muslim women to go out with make up or it’s just for our husband and piercing of nose without using niqab?

ANSWER:

Wa Alaykum Salam Warahmatullah Wabarakaatuh.

It is not permissible for any woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to display her beauty to other than her husband.

And what do women benefit from such acts other than creating anxiety in their own hearts, causing distraction and discontent in the hearts of men, and causing a damage to their own records with Allah.

The problem is not the make up for the Shaarii permit and encourage that a woman beautifies herself. But moving on the streets with this in such a way that It is displayed for all to see is among the trappings of Iblis

Can’t you see that Allah forbade the Believing Women that they should not hit their feets on the ground in such a way that what their garments conceal of their ornaments are made known by such an act?

This is a forbiddance from deliberately creating an impression of beauty and ornaments in the hearts of men and thereby causing distraction. The Verse says:

ولا يضربن بأرجلهن ليعلم ما يخفين من زينتهن

“And let them not strike the ground with their feet that that which is concealed of their beauty be known”

“And let them not strike the ground with their feet that that which is concealed of their beauty be known”

Here the Shariah forbade drawing attention to hidden beauty. What then will be said to drawing attention to an obvious beauty if not more and greater forbiddance

And Allah knows best.

Barakallahu fikum
Jazākumullāhu Khayran.
