Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah said:
It is reported from Abu Hurairah radiyallaahu anhu- who said – The Messenger of Allah -salallaahu alayhi wasallam said:
” people will not sit in an assembly without remembering Allah or invoking blessings on the prophet Salallaahu alayhi wasallam except it will be a cause of sorrow to them on the Day of Resurrection.”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam At-Tirmidhi in his “Sunan”#3380. Shaykh Al-Albaani declared it as Sahih in “Assahiha”#76
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
♦ It shows that When people sit in an assembly in which they do not remember Allah or invoke blessings on the Prophet Salallaahu alayhi wasallam, it will be a cause of grief to them on the Day of Resurrection.
♦ It encourages remembering Allah and discourages heedlessness.
♦ It discourages sitting in an assembly where there is no remembrance of Allah.
