Q&A (Fatwa)

#114: Is there any Limits to Sexual Talk between Married Couples?

*ANSWER*

Wa alaykum Salām Warahmatullāh Wabarakātuh

Alhamdulillāh, if by nasty and dirty talk you mean coquettish, seductive and sex-related statements, then there is nothing that makes it Harām in Islām as long as the object of the talk remains your husband or wife and as long as there is no third party eavesdropping or hearing the conversation.

However, it is excellent to be modest and not to get used to excessive use of those languages that could become a source of fitnah for especially the Muslim woman tomorrow if for instance Allāh tries her with the loss of her husband and she finds being patient over Sexual intimacy difficult, she could end up losing her guard and seeking Harām means.

But as we said, it is permissible but prudence is to curtail it.

Bārakallāhu fīkum
Jazākumullāhu Khayran.
