It is reported from Abu- Hurairah- radiyallaahu anhu – who said: The Messenger of Allah – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – said:
“Whosoever wishes to have his wealth or earnings increased and blessed, and his lifespan prolonged, he should keep ties with his kin. ”

COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
1. It shows that keeping ties with kin increases life span. However, it does not necessarily mean that he will live extra years, but maybe more blessed life with good deeds, leaving behind pious children who will make Du’a for him as explained by some ulamaa.
2. It hints at the importance and regards that Islam accords the kin.
3. It shows that we should not neglect any form of good deeds of any kind no matter how little
they appear to be.
4. It shows that we should hasten to increase or purify our earnings by keeping ties to the kin.
