Assalamu Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh to everyone
Firstly it is imperative that we reiterate the purpose of this halqah. Its purpose is to teach ourselves the knowledge of the din given the technology Allah has put to our disposal. i.e Telegram. We will insha’Allah discuss the Sunnah as if we are together sitting in a majlis. We shall be discussing about today’s topic which is STRENGTH, THE QUALITY OF A BELIEVER.
We will begin with the ahaadith that discuss Akhlaaq and Aadaab that the Rasul -salallahu alayhi wasallam – cited;
“From Abu Hurayrah – radiyallaahu a’nhu – he said: The Messenger of Allah – salallahu alayhi wasallam – said: “The Strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, and in both of them is good. Be keen towards achieving that which will benefit you and do not be weaken of spirit. And then if something harmful befalls you, do not say ‘had I done so and so, then so and so would have been.’ but say ‘Allah destined, and He does what He wills’ because using the word ‘had so and so’ opens the deeds of the shaytaan.”
Transmitted and Recorded by Imaam Muslim. Some of the highest scholars in our history and at the time have written volumes of books to comment on the Hadith just mentioned. They derived over 100 benefits and ahkaam (shar’i rulings) To such an extent that Imaam An-Nawawi – rahimahullah – said in his sharh of Muslim.

That this is a Hadith that explains one of the main differences between the Muslim and the Munaafiq and the Kaafir. We think he said that because the Hadith particularly explains the importance of strength and ability.
In Usul Al-Fiqh, it is said that “any word used that may have a generic meaning must be used generically and understood as such unless when restricted by other text”.Therefore, the ‘strong’ believer must be used in all contexts, the physical and metamorphic meanings it may take, meaning strength in all ramifications; Physical, mental, psychological, economical, sociological, intellectual and Just all aspects.

That is how we must understand the Hadith; that is how the Fuqahaa (juris-consults) understood the Hadith and so explained it. What that means is that Islam encourages us to be strong in everything we do and to excel in all ramifications of life. The Muslim must make sure he is  in all ramifications  stronger than the Kaafir

The Muslim Ummah must make sure it is stronger than the non-muslim nations. Even within the Muslim community, the Muslim must try to be stronger by the day.

Why does Allah love the stronger Muslim?
Because the stronger he is, the more he aids the Cause of Islam. That’s why in the sight of Allah, He is better and more beloved than the weak one who does not strive to excel and to earn and garner strength. This is reflected in what the Rasul – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – used to add in his morning and evening adhkaarوأعوذ بك من العجز والكسل

“And I seek your refuge from inability and laziness
‘Inability’ is will without capability While ‘laziness’ is capability without will. Both factors make a Mu’min to be weak, and the Ummah to be weaker than the Kaafir nations

How can we assist and raise Islam high?
If we are weak and refuse to be agile and active, but don’t forget, “And in both of them is Khayr (goodness)” For, Allah Alone knows who is the stronger Believer. That’s because ‘Spiritual Strength is the most important of all, and thus upon it should we concentrate.

Then the Rasul – salallaahu alayhi wasallam – went on to encourage us; A Believer should think first before acting; he must put his brains before his muscles. He must calculate everything he wants to do and decide on what benefits him even among those things that benefit him, he must choose what benefits him the most.

That’s why the Rasul – salallaahu alayhi wasallaam – said: ‘be keen and resolute towards achieving that which will benefit you…’

You must be resolute, determined, strong-willed and full with strength and vigor and you must seek Allah’s assistance, ‘and seek the assistance of Allah’. That’s because, as it has come in a Hadith, a believer must seek Allah’s assistance even with tying the laces of his shoes or we can say even in buttoning his shirts and zipping his trousers. The key here is this: ‘and do not be weakened nor give up’

Example: the person who decided that memorizing the Qur’an after discovering that it is beneficial for him in this world and the hereafter and who decided to begin, and he was able to do it for a week, then after that week, he failed and didn’t continue due to weakness, is the kind that did not abide by this Hadith, because he waned and weakened. You won’t get water from a well if you don’t dig on the same spot.
And there are numerous benefits derived from the Hadith, but Insha’Allah , we will pause here

We had initially wanted to discuss lastly on the causes of the ignorance of the majority in the Ummah despite the mass media and easy communication and transportation tonight; but time will not allow us.
Being a strong believer is key, u get to be able to do more ibaadah n defend Islam better.Subhanakallahuma wa bihamdik ash_hadu an laillaha I’lla anta astagfiruka wa atuubu ileik

May Allah Assist us all
