DAILY POST #68
Imaam Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalaani – rahimahullaah – said:
It is reported from Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas radiyallaahu anhu who said:
“l heard Allah’s Messenger -salallaahu alayhi wasallam saying:
“Allah loves the pious, rich(self sufficiency) and the inconspicuous person( I.e free from showing off or hypocrisy).”
Transmitted and recorded by Imaam Muslim in his “Sahih”#2965.
COMMENTARY
The hadith shows the importance of the following:
1. It indicates that Allah loves the pious ones. The pious person is the one who always follows Allah’s commandment and he refrains himself from transgressing the limit of the shari’ah.
2. It shows that Allah loves one that is self sufficient. That means, he is always pleased, contented and happy with what Allah has bestowed upon him no matter how little it is.
3. It encourages one to be sincere and make his acts of worship solely for Allah. One should beware of showing off or hypocrisy, for Allah will not accept any act that is not meant for him alone.
